Medium
This student showed proficiency but would be given the opportunity to redo the assignment if they wished. The student did not perform poorly, however, he/she did not meet the required 2 labeled needs within the picture and in the planning box. The student used color and showed understanding of the habitat through the drawing. To improve, I would instruct the student to first reference the rubric (which would be attached to the activity sheet), ask a peer, and then consult me regarding next steps for improvement. The student would not get penalized if they redid the assignment correctly.

Low
This student did not show proficiency. They were able to start the correct habit for the animal they chose and used some color, however, they did not label any needs in the picture and they did not utilize the planning box once. The student would be given the option to redo the assignment, however, as the teacher I would want to meet with him/her to try and understand why the student did not follow the directions or the rubric. Intervention would be needed to identify if the student did not understand the objective or if they just did not want to complete the work. This intervention would occur on a one-on-one basis in which the student would explain the activity sheet to me. The student would be given the opportunity to convey concerns, confusion, and/or verbally describe the animal's needs to me.
